After two years of construction and a cost of $336 million, the famous Argosy Casino on the Ohio River owned by Penn National Gaming, Inc., has been dramatically expanded, updated, and reborn as the new Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg.
The newest, largest riverboat casino in the United States is located in the city of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, less than 30 minutes from Cincinnati. It boasts 4,400 gaming positions, 3,232 slot machines, 88 table games and a 41-table World Poker Tour® poker room. Kerzner Resorts International's Atlantis Paradise Island has completed a $1 billion Phase III expansion adding a new a 600-room all-suite hotel tower (The Reef Atlantis), a major conference center, a $200 million five-star caliber condominium hotel tower (The Cove at Atlantis), and Aquaventure which stretches over 141 acres of rivers, rapids, water escalators, waves, water slides and a man-made lagoon for dolphin encounters called Dolphin Cay.
At the heart of ensuring this astonishing and complex destination resort operates without interruption to its electric power, are distribution and emergency control systems custom-designed by Industrial Power Systems of Jacksonville, Florida.

When Boyd Gaming Corporation (NYSE: BYD) decided to “raise the bar in the northern Indiana market” they began a $170 million expansion project to build Blue Chip 2, the largest floating casino in the United States. Blue Chip 2 was built on-site at its Michigan City facility by Jamestown Metal Marine Sales, Inc. to a design by Guido Perla & Associates (GPA), of Seattle. In addition to their role as naval architects, GPA was also the project’s electrical engineer. The specifications GPA developed provided the integrated functionality, and Industrial Power Systems was contracted to design and build the switchgear to meet the very specialized requirements of a 24-hours-a-day gaming vessel operation.

Industrial Power Systems designed and built the generator controls for the most recent addition to the award-winning, not-for-profit water and wastewater utility, Bonita Springs Utilities, Inc., state-of-the-art infrastructure. Working with Cogburn Brothers Electric, CH2M Hill, and Ring Power Systems, IPS developed the specifications for the $58 Million East Water Reclamation Facility’s unique generator controls.

When The Steamship Authority (SSA - The Woods Hole, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket Steamship Authority) ordered its first new vehicle ferry in 15 years, the ferry's builder VT Halter Marine turned to IPS to design and build the electrical power system for the new double-ended 255' M/V Island Home.

IPS recently completed several panels for The Yellow Elder, a Bahamian Defence Force's patrol boat that suffered a devastating engine room fire. IPS provided new switchboards, link panels, and gauge panels throughout the vessel.
