Senior Electrical Engineer
Industrial Power Systems, Inc., an IEM company, is an industry leader in providing custom electrical controls, switchgear and innovative new approaches to solutions for industrial and marine applications. With our ever-expanding business in a small company environment and beautiful new 85,000 sq. ft. facility in Jacksonville, Florida, our employees have the opportunity to create, design, develop and manufacture state-of-the-art products to meet our customers’ needs.
Your responsibilities will include the design and development of unique custom control systems used in switchgear utilizing industry standard communication protocols to multiple PLC’s, protective relays and 3rd party devices. As a systems integrator, you will also be creating innovative solutions working directly with the customers and interfacing internally with sales, test/QA, programmers and field service.
Requirements includes a BSEE or equivalent and a minimum 5 + years of experience designing control systems in the power industry. You must have a solid knowledge of low and medium voltage switchgear protection schemes including circuit breakers, protective relays and instrumentation. Experience with generator controls including stand-alone operation, multiple generators operating in parallel on an isolated bus and generators operating in parallel with the utility are a plus. Knowledge of marine regulation bodies, experience with multi-function engine/generator controllers, AutoCAD and an understanding of PLC’s would be a plus. Excellent communication skills and being self-motivated are required.

Test & Quality Control Technician

With our ever-expanding business in a small company environment and beautiful new 85,000 sq. ft. facility in Jacksonville, Florida, our employees have the opportunity to create, design, develop and manufacture state-of-the-art products to meet our customers’ needs.
This position is responsible for the in-house testing, verification and start-up in the field of a project which will include performing UL inspections, verifying point to point wiring, redlining drawings, developing test procedures, performing set-up and dynamic adjustment of analog and digital governor systems, voltage regulator systems and engineer generator controllers. This position is also responsible for inspecting products for conformance to all applicable quality requirements.
Requirements include an AS degree or equivalent and a minimum 2 years of experience testing electrical equipment using several types of test equipment including Hi-Pot, Meggar, 3 Phase Relay Test Equipment, milliamp simulators and multimeters. It is a plus if you have experience with multiple/paralleling generator control system start-ups utilizing multi-function protection relays (Basler, GE or Schweitzer) and multi-function engine controllers (Woodward & ComAp). The ability to make changes in the field to HMI screen & PLC ladder logic programming is highly desirable. A willingness to travel (up to 25%), being a team player, having strong communication skills and an ability to work independently without supervision are a must.
Field Service Technician / Engineer

You will also perform modifications and repairs to existing systems.
Requirements include an AS degree or equivalent and a minimum 5 years of experience with multiple/paralleling generator control system start-ups utilizing multi-function protection relays (Basler, GE or Schweitzer a plus) and multi-function engine controllers (Woodward & ComAp a plus). You must also have experience using several types of test equipment including Hi-Pot, Meggar, 3 Phase Relay Test Equipment, milliamp simulators and multimeters. Strong computer skills – the ability to make changes in the field to HMI screen & PLC ladder logic programming – are highly desirable. A willingness to travel, a team player, strong communication skills and an ability to work independently without supervision are a must.
